I left a game running all night on my machine (whoops) and now the top left and right seem to have the game 'burned' into the screen.

I'm at work now - and the LCD is turned off - the suspense is killing me - will it be ok when I get home in 6 or 8 hours? If not - is there any rememdy for this?

Don't worry, LCDs don't burn. But Plasma does.

Anyhow, turn off your screen on during the night: it saves the eletricity and increases the life of your screen.

yes it should go away.

I've never experienced it before but I have heard about it quite a bit.

I usually leave my LCD at work on with no screen saver on the same display for more than an hour at times, and nothing's wrong with it.

i have left mine for days at a time and never had anything remotely like a burn in.

you should be fine. However, beware, under no circumstances should you let the leprechauns near it, they are dangerous.

not true. although its not probable for it to happen, not probable at all.

this is the order starting with most likely to burn in.
Plasma
Rear Projection CRT
Directview CRT
LCD
DLP

Yup, but a properly set-up RPTV or Plasma has virtually very little risk of burn-in.

The key is to keep it out of "Torch mode" (high contrast).

Don't LCDs just get a temporary burn in though?
