is there noticeable difference between P2 400 and Celeron @ 850?

It should be fine. Just realize that you will probably be running over the rated voltage.. unless of course u can go below 2.0v on your m/b. It should be fine as long as you have a decent cooler such as a golden orb(~$14). I run mine at 850mhz 2.0v 100/133mhz system/sdram assynch:) If you want saftey with slower perf, but a 700+ mhz celeron2, if you want speed, buy a 533 or 566 and o/c them using 100mhz bus speed. abit slocket 2 should be fine. i think it was abit, argh can't remember, its sold at frys. Do not buy generic to o/c.

Novice, thing is Anand in the past did do a test overclocking the new Celeron II and it was still slow for it's mhz. He explained why in the review also.
