Is there like a schedule/planner program for the pc?

Im looking for a program where it displays a calendar or a planner of events. You enter in your own events, what would be even cooler, is if it popped up and reminded you its time to go to the dentist or something. A virtual planner is what im looking for.

im sure Microsoft has something in one of its programs. in fact, ive seen it. i forge which though.

Maybe OneNote has it (part of newer M$ Office packs)

I Use Yahoo Calander because you can set it up for other friends and family members to check you schedule too. You can post private and public events also. The best part is that it is free ;)

ya...i guess i'd try that, do they have one for gmail? i was hoping for a little program i could just open on the desktop, i'd hate to log into yahoo everytime to check it.
