Is there anyway to OC a 1900XTX with ATI Tray Tools?

its all in the title. I love ATI Tray Tools but it really pisses me off that i can't OC with it. CCC overdrive sucks and limits me so much, and i cant seem to figure out ATI Tool so is there any way to use this program...possibly an older version maybe or something?

Same boat here. ATI Tool isn't very workable for me.

Try Rivatuner guys. You can't change voltage but you can OC core and mem, I'm at 700/1800 (900) at stock volts through rivatuner

Rivatuner has the option to do so, it's a tab next to the overclocking option. ATI Tray tools also has an option to do it but I just use rivatuner for both

HHmmm... I wonder if you could change the voltage in ATI Tool and then use Rivatuner to change the clocks? Conflict?

maybe. Right now im using ati tray tools for the "D3D render ahead" option and awesome fan controls and using Rivatuner for OC'ing. I dont need to mess with voltages because im up to 700 core and 900 memory on stock volts!

To make it to where it doesn't suck I guess.

lol

akshayt, you really should change your topic as a sign that you get the fact that it doesn't suck. Or else carry the stigma with you forever :)

ATI Tool does everything that you're looking for. Version 25 Beta 14

I've been using ATI Tool Beta 13/14 since Feb. with great results. Here is what I've done (and a ton of other people too):

1) Install ATI Tool

2) Disable the ATI Hotkey and ATI Smart services and than reboot.

3) Set voltages to where you feel the limits are or where you want to start testing. I'd recommend 1.475-1.5V as the max on the core with stock cooling unless you have very good temps (<75-80C at load). My memory responds well to increased voltage but I have it cooled well. I use 2.2V to hit 875MHz and 2.15V for 850MHz. I probably wouldn't go over 2.1V on stock cooling. The last value (VDDQ??) I would give 1.5V with no worries. Others have gone well above that but with stock cooling I wouldn't risk it.

4) Go back to the gpu/mem clock screen and start experimenting. I usually test the memory and gpu separately. Just increase clock speeds by 10MHz and than run the artifact scanner for 5 minutes. It is actually pretty accurate and will get you close to your max clocks. Sometimes it won't register an error but you can see little artifacts pop up on the spinning cube of carpet.

5) Once I've hit the max clocks on the mem and then on the gpu, I'll test them together. It usually means I have to lower both down a bit. After I've found the max by letting the artifact scanner run for 15-20 minutes with no errors, I'll count that as my max. 90% of tha games I've played will run just fine if the artifact scanner didn't pick anything up. A few tax the card more than ATI Tool so you'll have to experiment.

6) Make a profile by saving the card clocks and than make sure you go back to the voltage menu and save the voltage settings to the profile you just created. Otherwise the clocks will be saved but your voltage will remain at stock when you load a profile.

7) Now when you game, just open ATI Tool, load your profile, and you're ready to go.

I know that was pretty simplified for most of you but I really don't see any problem with ATI Tool as it's worked very well for me using CAT 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, and 6.6.

Here are two great threads over at XS that have a lot more info if you're interested.

Elfear, you don't have any issues with ATI Tool resetting to 2D clocks (or even lower, like 400/600) when playing videos or launching certain games (FEAR did this in my case)? This was an issue for me on 6.5, but not on 6.3 (I didn't try 6.4). I believe it was an issue with the 6.6 betas for me too, but I still haven't tested on 6.6 final yet.

Just a little note (because I missed the subtle shift in conversation at first), but OP is asking about ATI Tray Tools, not ATITool.

Do you have the temperature monitoring turned on? I find that if I leave that feature enabled, it occasionally loses track of the temperatures and power usage (displays stuff like 0C, ".$1" and other junk) and causes the fan to go haywire (randomly changes the speed every few seconds, usually to either 40% or 100%) until I restart the program. I turned that off and the program otherwise works very well though.

I quit ATI Tool when it freezes on me on like 680mhz or even less. Too damn buggy and I've tried it with all cats 6.3-6.6

700/900 is good for me now until I go water

Sorry to drag up a thread that's died but I've been a little busy.

Had some issues with 6.4's I believe but every other driver has worked fine for me. I was getting some slowdown in FEAR but I checked the clocks with Rivatuner and they were where they should have been.

Ya sorry if my post was unclear. I was just letting the OP know that ATI Tool has worked well for me since he mentioned that he couldn't get it figured out.

I haven't had any issues with the temp monitoring tool. Seems to work just great and is fairly accurate from what I've compared to other's who use the program.
