Is there anyway to make Firefox not opening a new tab when...

... I accidentally press the scrolling button (the little wheel between the left and right button) over a link. When I used that to scroll and wanted to stop, I had to press it and if it happened to be on top of a link, it will open a new tab, which is very annoying

I know in mozilla there's a checkbox to turn it off under "tabbed browsing" to turn off middle click off tab
