I would like to make a picture slide show so that i can send it to someone and they can show it at their party... The only problem is....

What program could i make it in?
What program could they view it in? I don't think they have much software so they would have to view in in internet explorer or something!

Thanks..
Mad.

i dont know but i want to.

ALSO is there one where you can add sound to it. like a mp3 playing in teh background

You can make slideshows using freeware irfanview.

Homepage

You can run the slideshow from within irfanview, have it save all the files into a (largish) .exe file to run on a cd or another pc, or make a .SCR (screensaver) file.

The size of the pictures will correlate to the size of the screenshow. However, you CAN use irfanview to batch resize your pictures before making a screenshow.

It works pretty well, I did notice that if you leave the screensaver running for a while it'll eventually GPF but it doesn't cause any other application problems, just kills itself.

NOTE: If it matters, you can NOT set it to timeout to the next picture AND accept keyboard input. If you set it to manually scroll through the pictures it won't auto-scroll. (At least from what I've seen in my trials). I'd like to have like a 25-30s timeout and be able to manually skip pictures by hitting a key, but, it doesn't work like that. It also doesn't have any fancy wipe routines (transitions from one picture to the next).

Powerpoint 2k only does one music file per slide unless someone knows how. Haven't tried XP or newer versions. I'm trying to add music to a timed slideshow and compile to a .exe, VCD, or .scr.

I was going to say IrfanView, but you beat me to it. I've used the slideshow before and it works pretty well.

This is what I was going to suggest as well
