Is there anyway to fix a dead psu??

Maybe if you know enough about electronics then sure , but is it really worth all that time and effort fixing it knowing it could blow again ?

Better to buy a new one with a years guarantee.

Wouldn't risk it unless you know for sure what you are doing because those capacitors can have a nasty charge.

I learned that the hard way, I tried taking apart my power supply while it was still in the case but the power was disconnected. My screw driver slipped and I got a serious shock that sent my hand flying into the back of the case and I got a nasty cut.

I'll repeat that one more time. But, you can try to replace the fuse in the PS. Some are soldered in to the PCB while others are in little holders. In my experence, if the fuse is blown, then the PS is toast, but your's could have blown due to a power surge or some other phenomenon that could blow a fuse without destroying components. Once again though, be careful of those caps, even disconnected they carry a nasty charge.

Peace,
will
