recently my school began capping download speeds for programs like morpheus and direct connect to like less than 2-3 kb/s, is there any way to get around this???? Please help

downloading off of the web works fine

i posted this in off topic but they suggest i post it here, thanks in advance

if you found out what ports they are limiting and try to find programs that don't use those ports. I really don't think that there is much that you can do about it.

Go rent space in a co-lo, throw in a server, and setup a SOCKS (probably your best bet, dante is good if you use OpenBSD) proxy server, and configure it for connections to port 80 going to whatever port you really want to go to.
