we have a ton of keychains at work that people have lost throughout our store. Some of them have identifying pieces on them, like sports club membership fobs. The other keysets have what appears to be a generic number stamped on the keys (like a G2 on a car key). They've been sitting in the store for a little over a year now and have been unclaimed. Is there anything else we can do to get them back to their rightful owner?

you could start a lost and found keys site.

EDIT: do you have a sign in the store that says you have a box of lost keys? i would imagine that people who have lost keys in your store might be back or are regulars.

You can usually call the company the tag is from and give them the code to find out who's it is. If there's an ID on the membership tag or the remote unlocker thing, sometimes they are linked to people and they can look them up.

i just called a ford and chevy dealership and apparently, there's no way to trace the remotes back to the owner. To the garbage they go...
