Hi there, im a veteran amd user. The only intel based system I have used was an emachines 300mhz celly. Back in the days....

Im thinking, ill give intel a try. So im gonna be building a Pentium 4 3.4C based system with an asus p4c800 deluxe and 2GB of pc3200, and 9800XT and the works.

My question is, is there anything important that i would need to know that i would know about from setting up amd systems? I heard there was a cpu power connecter, what is that?

Thanks in advance.

Be sure to use the 4 pin 12 volt connector, as well as the 20 pin atx plug. Also be aware that sometimes the asus bios hardware monitor will give you an error message when posting. Often it's a false alarm. You might also check out the abit is7, which doesn't have that problem. The asus board seems to be a little pickier about ddram timings, power supply readings, etc.
