Is there any way to use Thunderbird/Outlook for only composing Gmails?

I use Gmail entirely for all my personal/business email, and send email from our company domain..and want to get rid of the "on behalf of" thing that comes in emails.

I don't believe there is any way to do this with gmail, and was wondering if there's any scripts that would allow me to, when I click on Compose Email or when I reply to an email to just open up outlook or another program so that i'll be allowed to just send email within there, and now through the web based gmail.

Does such a thing exist?

I think that turned out to be a mistake on Gmail's part, they want to have that in there for security purposes, and when it was "gotten rid of" it was put back shortlya fter.

Not sure this is what you're looking for, but you did mention Outlook...

At home I use Outlook as interface to both my gmail and ISP e-mail accounts, letting it download the e-mails into Outlook and then composing e-mails in Outlook that are sent out through the e-mail account of my choice (usually gmail). I've sent e-mails to my work e-mail account and have never seen the "on behalf of" you mention.
