I got a good deal on a Microsoft MN-740 Xbox wireless bridge. Unfortunately, the software that comes with it doesn't run on a PC, only on an Xbox...So there isn't any way to configure it, at least out of the box. I was wondering if any kind of software has been issued that allows you to control the bridge from Windows (i.e. without an Xbox). I didn't see anything on the Microsoft site, although that doesn't mean much.

Anyone know?

Have you tried connecting it to a PC and using a web browser to connect to 192.168.1.1 ?

But if you look at that review of the Xbox wireless adapter, you'll see the reviewer specifically notes that you CANNOT configure the MN-740 from a PC. You can only configure it from the Xbox. Once configured, yes, you can use it anywhere you want with any device. But if you can't configure it in the first place because you don't have an Xbox...

I was wondering if anyone had found a hack/update that allows configuration directly from a PC.

I just tried connecting it to a PC and opening the associated http address...no joy...

I guess it's going back, 'cause it doesn't appear there's any solution short of buying an Xbox (which is not in the cards...)
