Is there any way to tranfer Linux word processing files to Microsoft word?

I am thinking of using Linux for a "spart parts" computer build-up I am doing.

Mostly this computer will be used for just internet browsing, video playback and word processing.

If I wanted to transfer Linux based word processor documents to Microsoft word on another computer will this be possible?

There's no such thing as a "Linux word processing file". Abiword, OpenOffice, KWord, etc all have their own formats but they also read/write MS Word format fairly well so you'd just have to make sure to save in that format. You'd also want to re-proof the document after that just to make sure it all looks right, some of the more complicated things like tables tend to look different between programs.

what program will you be using as there is no "linux word processing file"? Openoffice is great at reading and saving in MS formats, its what i use.
