Since i do nothing with 'App Store...' besides check for 'Updates' , it would be nice if it was called 'Updates'. Is there any way to rename 'App Store...' in OS X Yosemite? thanks

Well I guess not. Yeah its a kinda stupid request I know that much.😛😉 I suppose I should get a cell phone and try out a few apps. I do have a few apps on my 1st Generation iPod Touch, one for my DVD collection software and Apple's 'Remote' app. Back in ~2007 or so I decided I no longer wanted a cell phone so I went landline only. Kinda funny, I was on a cell phone ~15 years ago when nobody had them now its the opposite. I guess I just like to be different.🙂

The App Store on Yosemite is for the Mac App Store. They aren't cross platform, they won't work in iOS.

The App Store on Mac is completely different from the App Store on phones. Different apps, different purpose.

Ok. This is what I am talking about renaming vv, if I want to check for updates on my iMac I gotta hit the "App Store..." button vv .... it would be nice if it were called "updates" or something to that effect~.

Renaming the menu item? I don't know if I'd go about hacking the system and risking instability just to make a change that you've already made a mental note of.

The way it was done in Mavericks was left from a time when "Software Update" was its own standalone app (obviously before the App Store came along). Nowadays it makes sense to associate updates with the App Store, because that's how they're delivered. The 10.10.3 beta now labels the update count as "updates" to make that fact more clear.

I'm not aware of any way to change the menu item text.
