Open TaskManager
Open the Command Line Prompt
Close Explorer.exe

That should kill most apps associated with windows so the program you want dead should be able to be killed. If that doesnt work use that mighty command line you have to nav to the directory and delete that sob.. ..

If still cant may need to kill a few more things off from tskmgr but explorer is normally the one responsible. And if it works can open explorer ack up just by typing explorer.exe into the mighty cmd line.

You don't need to open up cmd. To restart explorer.exe just go to the applications tab on task manager and click "new task..." on the bottom. type explorer.exe, click ok, and you're back up.

some folks...no sense of humor...whatsoever....

quite sad really

Kidding aside, the fact that it's possible in Windows for a process to not be able to be killed by a user, even an administrative user, is utterly retarded. WTF were they thinking?
