Is there any way to just fvcking KILL an application?

You can try killing some other processes in the hopes that you get one that's locking the one you are trying to kill. Or try the kill prog listed above.

if you are running xp pro you can use tasklist to list the running processes and the taskkill to kill it. but if you are running home you are out of luck

Open TaskManager
Open the Command Line Prompt
Close Explorer.exe

That should kill most apps associated with windows so the program you want dead should be able to be killed. If that doesnt work use that mighty command line you have to nav to the directory and delete that sob.. ..

If still cant may need to kill a few more things off from tskmgr but explorer is normally the one responsible. And if it works can open explorer ack up just by typing explorer.exe into the mighty cmd line.

Yeah, this would be really helpful. Windows sucks! Well, XP hasn't been as bad as the older OSes I used, but still....

I'll check out the suggested programs. Thanks to those who gave the recommendations. 🙂
