Is there any way to getthe Line in to mimic the line out?

I'm in the dorms now and my roomie likes to take afternoon naps...so in an effort to atleast accomodate that (i usually play CS in the afternoon) I would just plug up my headphones.

but I don't want to keep reaching back to swith cht eplugs between headphone and speaker - is there a way to set it so I can plug inthe headphone and the same sound will come out but in a different slot?

I have the A7n8x Deluxe Rev 1.X and I have a lot of extra unused audio connections (i have a 2.1 setup) and was wondering if there was a way to rememdy the sutiation - thanks

Maybe some kind of Y connector would work. Have speakers and headphones plugged in at the same time.

There are actually front-panel connectors; a company named FrontX makes them. I got the thing - it does cut off the speakers when headphones are plugged into the front. Problems though:
1) If you use more than 2 speakers, the rear and center/subwoofer channels aren't muted when the headphones are plugged in
2) The front speakers aren't muted either. They just get pretty quiet.
3) It doesn't work. I have to mute all channels but one of the front ones, or else they seem to cancel each other out - with the front 2 channels at slightly different levels, the sound warbles horribly. I need to turn the volume all the way down for one side (doesn't matter which one) for it to sound decent.
So I either got a broken unit, which I don't find likely - it's just a few wires, a connector, and a jack, not much to screw up - or else FrontX's stuff is just crap. The latter is the one I tend to agree with: I got a front USB connector from them too. With it plugged into the motherboard headers, Windows detects an Unknown Device. Somehow the connectors themselves are showing up in Windows, which doesn't happen when I hook the back-panel connectors (that came with the motherboard) to the headers.
For the record, the front-panel mic connector does in fact work. But that was about it.
Sorry if I didn't offer anything really useful; just a bit of a warning I guess.
Other option would be to buy new speakers with a headphone jack.

Go buy a Microsoft Sidewinder Gamevoice headset, and it comes with a console that has a switch to switch back and forth from speakers to headphones......if you are running surround, you just have to turn the volume on the speakers all the way down to cut out the rest of them.

Turtle Beach Santa Cruz cards have versajacks. I have my Enermax front panel's audio out linked to my VersaJack. Very cool

I wouldn't do this, or recommend it. Microsoft recently stated they will no longer produce Swidewinder products. They claim there will be support at the OS lever for them for a while, but I am not going to run out and buy a product that I know is no longer produced (that means all Sidewinder game devices will no longer be produced).

I don't think a Y connector is the solution either, as the speakers still need to be unplugged. maybe an extenstion cable instead, that way unplug the speakers then plug in the headphones. And the connection can be moved to the front of the PC.

There is no support needed for it....hell, its just a headset with some handy goodies.
