Is there any way to get an e-mail telling us we got a PM?

Wouldn't that sort of be...weird? Eventually having all of your various contact systems notifying every other contact system when a message arrives? How hard is it to log in and check?

How about a special system tray icon program that notifies you anytime there's a new PM or new post in a thread that you subscribe to or have posted in previously?

It is not that it is hard... but I am working and when I am expectin g aPM I don't want to be checking every 2 minutes... I would rather have my e-mail notification tell me...

Though I do like the idea of a System tray icon that pops up or something... anything but having to log in and check every few minues

You shouldn't be reading the forums while you're at work anyway. Or following up on any PMs. Except on your break, when you can check for PMs and respond to them until your break is done.

Ah, but PMs wouldn't be research unless it was to continue discussion of a technical topic. It doesn't really sound like these are that sort of PM.

I'm new here and cannot figure out how to log into the PM system. I checked the help section and there is supposed to be a lock icon, but I don't see one, flashing or not. Help? klingsor@peoplepc.com
