Is there any way to get an Android phone screen on a tv?

I thought about getting an MHL adapter so I could hook up my Galaxy Nexus to my TV, but I decided not to because controlling it would be a pain. As in I'd have to get up and walk over to the phone to do anything.

But now I'm thinking, hey, Android supports USB input devices, right? So maybe I could just get something like this and hook that up as well, and use it to control my phone.

Other options seem to be much more expensive - you could buy something like this and instead of using your own Android phone you'd just have a different Android device hooked up. You could make an HTPC and then control it through your Android phone using Gmote.

Try Twonky Mobile: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pv.twonkyremote&hl=en

According to the description:
With Twonky Mobile, find personal and online music, photos and videos and play them on one of the hundreds of devices available for your WiFi network (such as Apple TV, compatible Samsung HDTV, or other AirPlay, UPnP or DLNA compatible devices). Also access your phone's media from your computer or networked devices, including Xbox 360® and Sony® PS3™.

That looks pretty nifty! Actually I'm hoping the new Sony Google TV remote will work on other android devices since it's bluetooth and comes with a build in touchpad and microphone which should work great with google now, voice search etc.
