Is there any way to change the pointer on the "My Documents" Icon?

But... "My Documents" on C: drive has nothing since I store all of my files on the D: drive allocated for "DATA"... Ideally, I'd like to be able to point at the location for my data files and think of it as "My Documents"...

Can XP Home be tweaked to do this?

Right click My Documents, target tab, enter desired target folder, click move to move existing files to target folder.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, but I don't want to "move files"... But I will try what you say... Perhaps it will gel as I run through the process.

Going one step further... I hate the fact that Win XP wants to "force me" into using "My Documents", "My Pictures", etc... Is there a way to just delete these and/or change the way they appear in the OS, such that the "My Documents" icon actually says something like: "D: DATA"???

You can rename those icons to whatever you like.

Sorry, I thought you might have existing files in your existing My Docs folder. Just click OK then, no need to click move.

XP doesn't "force you" to do anything. It is simply the default. Of course you can delete and rename the folders to your whim.

You can tell it to "NOT" move the files/folders currently in my documents. Werk does provide the best solution for your issue though.

Thanks all: I don't know why but I was under the impression that some of the folders were "controlled" by the OS and couldn't be renamed (or deleted). I think I tried to delete them once and they came back... I thought these were "special" icons aside from the fact that they can be especially annoying.
