Is there any truth behind this story?

My uncle told us a story about an al qaida member mailing a bomb to some western country (possibly, the US). His mail got hit with a "return to sender" label. He got it back, opened it, and boom. Blew himself up! Any truth? Links? thanks..

i remember reading about somethign like this. some palestinian terrorist mailing a package bomb to israel and getting it returned. i think i read it on yahoo news a while ago.

Thanks for the verification! 😀 That son of a gun lying piece of shi... Heh. I had a feeling it wasn't true. He actually told us it was. oh well..

Qacer,

He may have truly believed it was. Many people buy in to this stuff.

Hmm, I guess you'd have to be stupid to mail such a package with your return address on it; very stupid to open it upon it's return; and really quite gullible to believe the story as described. 😉 The story has an ironic justice to it that's appealing to people. The tragedy that befalls such a fool who meets a comic end is easier to accept as plausible. This plausibility makes this joke an even better joke.

He must have thought it was true because he was on the AOL mailing list, which told him to email it to everyone in his contact list or he would have bad luck for the next 20 years...
