Please let me explain. For my Home Theater, I purchased a DVD by a company called Avia; title is "Guide to Home Theater." In short, half of the DVD explains all about the different channels of audio and the role that components and setup play in a total home theater...blah, blah, blah.

The "Meat" of it is a whole bunch of test patterns, both audio and video that allow you to setup your surround sound and more importantly, your TV for precise color, tint, brightness, black level, etc. It works great.

I want to do the same thing for my monitor. Is there some kind of proggy/software that is the equivalent for the pc monitor? Thanks.

In theory if you have a DVD player you could use "Guide to Home Theater" on you PC all though the resolution wouldn't be optimal.

What you're looking for is Displaymate.

Hope that helps.

DisplayMate is just what your looking for. It might take awhile to adjust everything properly but it's well worth it IMHO.
