Is there any reason to paint my doors after putting primer on it?

I wanted to repaint my interior wood doors (and 1 exterior door)... the old doors had some faded/peeling white paint on it. After putting primer (white in color) on the doors, it looks exactly the way i want it to. If i don't paint over the primer, is that ok?

Probably, but the primer won't wear well, nor will it wash well.

Better to put a good coat of paint over the primer.

The purpose of paint is to protect things and sometimes look pretty.
The purpose of primer is to provide a better surface for the paint to stick.
Its not as good at protecting.

Primer also lacks the glossy sheen of paint. Granted, you don't want a high gloss sheen on a door, but even satin is glossier than primer, so even if it's an identical color, the door will appear more vibrant with the paint than just primer.
