Is there any reason to have multiple CD ROM and DVD drives?

There is no need for one, but with my drives I've noticed the DVD/CD RW combo doesn't rip cds nearly as fast as the CDRW for some reason. It never maxes either out, so it's not the read speed.

one dvd-rom and one dvd-rw is the sweet spot to me. only time i'd use both is for cd/dvd copying.

But doesn't the fact that you have to process the vast majority of DVDs kill the whole point of that as you can't do "on the fly" copying for DVDs? It seems to be only useful for CDs and how often do people copy CDs versus DVDs?

if nothing else, it removes the hassle of having to swap play discs for ut2004, and far cry . . .

It's a lot cheapier and easier to just use no cd cracks
