Is there any reason not to buy an 80gb refurbished Ipod?

I've been holding onto this $150 Apple gift card hoping that somebody would consider trading it in for a Best Buy card, but no luck. Anyway, I'm ready to pull the trigger and buy a refurbished 80gb Ipod from Apple.com. Is there any real reason not to buy this?

my brother and I both bought refurb 2gig nano's from Apple. Mine died (frozen in my car 🙂 ) and they replaced it at the apple store for free. Go for it.

I would say go for it.

I purchased a 40gb refurb over a year ago and it still works great. Looked completely brand new when I got it.

I think the only thing that would make this deal sweeter is if I purchased it from Best Buy with BB's extended warranty. Should something happen down the road in a year or two, I could potentially upgrade to the latest and greatest.

I love refurbs. If I get the choice I always go for them simply because they've been found broken or not working to spec in some way, prolem is found, unit is usually taken apart and parts are replaced, then re-tested and given higher levels of scrutiny than normal working ones.

Go for it.

As stated, Apple refurbs are as good as new units. I have had one and a few friends have as well. No problems. Plus, they do come with a pretty nice warranty (most refurbs give 90 day warranties, apple gives a 1 year). I would say definitely buy it.
