Is there any reason I should wait to buy a new PC?

My son and I have been having a blast playing MOHAA and I've decided he needs a better PC. He's currently using an old P2 333 with a GeForce 2 MX card. I don't want to spend more then $1000. I also don't want to buy a new PC and a week later find out I should have waited for some new technology that's just around the corner. Is there any reason I should wait? Thanks,
 
Not really. Unless your a hardcore gamer then anthing in the 1.2ghz+ range with DDR MB will do nicely 🙂
Pop in a geforce 4 4200($199)p4 1.6a or an athlon XP 1700+
A DDR MB
nice fast 7200 RPM HD

Should be well below the 1000 budget. Hell you can go with a new soundcard like the turtle beach santa cruz for 69 bucks.




 
There's always something on the horizon. Technology is changing so fast that, if you waited for the next innovation, you'd never upgrade. Upgrade when you have the funds to upgrade!
