I bought a Focus 2001 keyboard from newegg for $18.00. I love it.

Last time I looked for it on Froogle it was $55.00. (kicks himself)

I have two Model M keyboards. One is an original from November 20, 1989 on which the period key is starting to stick (damnit!!), and a Lexmark produced one from January 17th, 1996 which I typed this message on.

Well i will say this, Dell got skimpy. I mean why is the keyboard so small too? Trying to use less plastic? Maybe my reasoning is wrong but i liked putting my palms on the extra plastic old style keyboards had at the bottom. Those extra pads they sell are annoying and go over the keyboards most of the time too.

I have *HUNDREDS* of IBM Model M's. All pre-used, but mostly in good shape and fairly clean. If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM.

I have to admit that some of the newer keyboards (like the nondescript Microsoft I'm using now -- it clicks) give pretty good key feedback -- not like the mushy keyboards on which you can't really tell when the keys actually register.

The very best keyboard I ever had came on a DEC Alpha PC back in the early 90's. I liked it so much, I've kept it through several "vintage replacements" of my work PC. What I really like about it is that the resistance to key movement drops past the point where the keystroke registers. I don't need to hit the stops on every key stroke. I wish I could track down a couple of back-ups; the poor thing's bound to break one of these days. (I made the mistake of touting the keyboard to a couple of my coworkers, and they quickly relieved me of the other two I was hording...)

I thought with those old IBM model keyboards you could just throw them in the dishwasher, but dont let them dry out and they would be like brand new. Maybe I'm mistaken.

I'm looking for one of these as well. I missed an amazing brand new IBM on eBay that didn't even get bids.
