So true, It seems that they (people in general) think that if aliens come, they will just decide to rule us, or blow us up.

I bet they are cuddly lil gloppitygoos that just want to meet new people/beings, like if I was to travel to another country.

Travelling to a known place is diff'rent than exploring. Hu-mans have always brought destruction with them when exploring. Indeed, anytime two species (or even subspecies) meet, there is bound to be conflict. Even in the best case where resources are not an issue and there is mutual benevolence, there is still disease or other unforseen and/or unintended consequences. Said cuddly lil gloppitygoos could secrete deadly poison (to humans), for instance, or vice versa.
