Always try to rip you off -- refuse to take CC's even when they HAVE the machine and equipment, but they just want the cash instead -- not only that, but they typically fvck the AC so it doesn't work, and 9/10 times they take a bullsh!t route, never have a clean cab, and always have a damn attitude. I hate them all.

The cab cars are not theirs so why do they care if the AC is on or not? The cars are always damaged because they have 200,000+ miles. It is not his fault if the AC doesn't work.
As far as having an attitude well that guy just sucks. He could be making $$ if he just had communication skills. Having a clean cab is a must.

Subways are cheaper and usually faster anyway.
As far as the condition of the vehicle, try to get the minivan cabs. They are usually in much better shape. BTW, you can tell them exactly what route to take, but I'm sure you know this already. I generally get annoyed when cabbies like to take the two way avenues where the lights are sequenced so you stop every 5 blocks or so.

friend of mine takes a GPS navigator thing with him wherever he goes in any country with all local maps loaded (courtousy of his company)...hehe...he tells the driver exactly where to go for teh quickest route...lol
some have told him to stuff it......he doesnt care, just gets another cab and promises a good tip if they let him dictate the route....
