Is there any good, free network layout software?

I downloaded a program, Network Notepad, but it continues to crash. Is there any free network layout software? With graphics for hubs, computers, etc. Thanks

Not sure if you can get this, but Visio enterprise is said to do major lan and wans.

I will look around and get back if I see any. Did you check zdnet download section? If not try it.

You can download a 60 day eval of VISIO from Microsoft (yep, Microsoft owns them now, the Borg of the computer galaxy).

Pretty easy to use for basic operation. Might as well learn a "industry standard".

Well, it took me about 2 minutes to find it (your not a full time student by any chance are you)...you may be able to buy this for about $25.00 through your school (college or tech college, I don't think K12 students can buy it). Here is the site for the demo:

Go to compaqs site and Download:
Compaq Networking Management Software
It has 3 layer downloads. There pretty big files.
It will go out and discover all your Hardware.
It has a GUI interface with graphics for routers,hubs, networking printers and computers.

Im not sure but it might only support Compaq servers. But I think it will work with any Network. Try it a see. We use it at work to monitor our network. I've never thought about trying it at home. Not a bad idea.
