I don't know too much about overclocking, but it would seem to me that increasing the CPU's clock multiplier (than doing just a little FSB clock tweaking) limits the potential failure modes of the system to just one: the CPU itself. On the other hand, performing only overclocking solely by raising the FSB speed broadens the failure modes to all of the system components. So unlocking the CPU would seem the key to maximum overclocking, but it seems like most people are just messing with the FSB clock.
For the Thunderbirds, there were lots of websites with photos and instructions for unlocking the CPU. How come this isn't the case for the Palominos?
