for? In 1994 I barely had any credit and desperately wanted this 486 with 14" monitor for $1,600, I have no idea why ... but a co-worker offered to help me out by co-signing for the Computer City financing program. I was thrilled and it helped me establish my credit.
Of course now that $1,600 machine is barely worth $60 including the ancient printer.
