This is a complete non-story because the State Department is just notifying Americans that traveling to Gaza is dangerous. They take no position on legality or morality of Israel's actions.

U.S. citizens should not protected when they're voluntarily anywhere off U.S. soil, but why does that only apply when they're near Israeli waters? Or is there another side to this? -- keep trolling.....you should know better...

Our alliances with UK and Israel have cost us dearly and will continue to cost us.-- oh boohoo get a grip. What it costs us pails in comparison to the good it had done us!!

Wow..you really are freaking troll!!
You need to read and understand what is going on in the middle east. Whether you agree or not has no bearing.

You have totally mis represented the article......

The article without coming out and stating so is talking about running the Israeli blockade of Gaza via the sea. It is also talking about those Americans who want to get involved in trying to run or break the blockade.

Three dozen Americans are now preparing to travel to Gaza by sea on the flotilla. But the State Department warning says:

The security environment within Gaza, including its border with Egypt and its seacoast, is dangerous and volatile. U.S. citizens are advised against traveling to Gaza by any means, including via sea. Previous attempts to enter Gaza by sea have been stopped by Israeli naval vessels and resulted in the injury, death, arrest, and deportation of U.S. citizens. U.S. citizens participating in any effort to reach Gaza by sea should understand that they may face arrest, prosecution, and deportation by the Government of Israel... On May 31, 2010, nine people were killed, including one U.S. citizen, in such an attempt.

Again reading comprehension fails you....

If US citizens want to impose their bodies in an act of war against a sovereign country, well, that is their choice.....but fuck'um.

The flotilla is officially starting to form up. As 2 French ships left port today, heading for Greece, where the rest of the flotilla will form up. Originally supposed to consist of 22 ships, at least one has dropped out for lack of permits.

Originally set to sail to Gaza around the end of June, but the new Joker in the deck is supposed to be a UN report on the previous Israeli boarding of Ships on the high seas. And its possible when the UN ruling comes out in early July, that the Israeli blockade of Gaza may be ruled illegal.

Lots of things happening, mainly on the diplomatic front, in the countdown to 9/2011 and beyond. The flotilla is just one looming event of many.

First of all I tried to be an unbiased reporter of coming events, but if you, Rebel44 think Israel can defy the UN, please have your head examined at your own expense.

But still it may not come to it, we don't know yet what the July UN report will say yet.

Word is the UN report actually supports Israel, or that's what seems from the negative Turkish reaction to the draft (they are a part of the committee).

Ok, Israel I see why you oppose - they ARE Jews after all, right - but what do you have against UK?

You ... unbiased? In last 5 years I saw maybe 5 of your posts to be unbiased.

UN resolutions are ignored in almost all cases when they are not backed by powerfull military.

IMO UN report will support Israeli position, so it doesnt matter anyway.

Israel can and does defy the UN all the time. The body is impotent and Israel gives not a shit what it says or does.

I actually think SamurAchzar has asked a fair and valid question. So I will take a stab at answering it.

We have to face certain facts, the UN, the US, the EU, and even the Russians are status quo entities resistant to rapid and unpredictable change. While flotilla activists are a moral force promoting rapid change with the moral force they project.

Two opposing forces with totally different goals.

As much as the quartet would wish the flotilla activists to just vanish, they still have to respect the activists human rights in the process. Its the difference between a UN member State and being a peace activists free agent. Its often not wise to dismiss the power of a Gandhi, Nelson Mandella, or a DR. King..

The flotilla will be OK; They will have the might of all those warships behind them to protect them. Israel will not be able to do anything accept salute.

Such was straight from the mouth of our resident blockage expert.

I oppose all states and their shitty alliances. I oppose forced alliances with anyone be they negroids, semites, mongoloids, or even caucasoids which are my own kind.

That said, our alliances and treaties with Britain have been screwing Americans over since 1783. First, we start out with the Treaty of Paris which sucked so badly that VA had to defy at least one article, then you have the Jay Treaty which sells out America's then-young soul to the British, then comes WWI, where we fight on the wrong side. Finally, America's descent into darkness then becomes irreversible when FDR raped the American taxpayer to help Churchill's sorry warmongering Troskyite neoconservative tyrannical faggoty fuckass.
