Is there an RTX Titan due soon?

You have to be pretty cautious about 7nm providing an instant replacement. The big Turing chips are truly massive so even at 7nm they'll need petty big dies to go meaningfully past them.

Won't be remotely easy or cheap at this point.

Nvidia's Titan has always been a money grabbing scheme, its essentially been a GTX 780ti, 980ti, 1080ti with another name and usually a tad bit more memory which they could sell at $1000+, until it starts barely selling, then they release it as a GTX XXX TI and sell at $600+

They’ve stopped doing that now. Titan is for compute focused cards, and the xxxTi has taken over the ‘insane’ price bracket.

I know there is the Titan V, which I think is the latest Titan. I was just wondering if there is going to be a new Titan based on the new RTX. Looking for something with a lot more vram than a 2080ti and less than a high end quadro, with RTX.

By lot more vram you mean additional 1GB?

They've refreshed with new dies every 9-18 months historically, I don't see any reason why Turing 12nm won't also last 9-18 months before they refresh it. Their original design target was 7nm so I think the argument here is backwards. They already incurred the loss when they discovered they had to also do a 12nm design, in addition to the planned 7nm. I don't see any reason to believe they would drop the 7nm design when they started the 12nm. I'd bet money they continued developing them both in parallel and maybe added scope to the 7nm design knowing it would give the 14nm design ordinary lifespan in the market place.

In other words, nVidia is too well run a company and too profitable to replace a card either too fast or too slow absent game changing competitive pressures

I think that was just to establish if they’d pay that much. Given what the 2080 and 2080 Ti are selling for, I think it’s safe to guess what NVidia learned from that experiment.
