Desktop pc wifi cards cost more than notebook PCMCIA cards, and I only need to have one desktop pc in my house go wireless. Anything such as this exists? Thanks.

The combination of the PCI card plus the PCMCIA card will probably put you over the cost of the PCI card.

Thing is I already have the PCMCIA card for a really low price with my 802.11 router.

I have one I used for an old Kodak digital camera. However it fits in an ISA slot. You can have it for the shipping cost.

PS; Lexar used to make a USB photo card reader that took PCMCIA cards

Antec makes the DataChute PCI too, last I checked. I happen to have one but I don't have a use for it.

pci pcmcia slots are about $80-100... do you think that's really a good alternative?

also, pci wifi cards have better antennae.
