Is there an application that will allow you to control volume individually by application?

I've seen it in Vista and in Linux... Anyway to do this in OSX?

I think there used to be a way to in the older versions of OS X, but I have not seen one that is Tiger or Leopard compatible.

OK, after doing some research, it looks like it did work with Tiger, but only on PPC Macs. And, they have a long dissertation on why they stopped development.

I like to listen to iTunes at a decent volume, but occasionally when browsing the web some sites like to chime in with their own sound... Essentially destroying my poor ear drums :)

I want iTunes at +10, Safari at +2 :)

Yep! Definitely one of my favorite features of Vista. Some websites have Flash videos or animation with no volume control and it's very convenient to be able to adjust the volume of an application from one central location rather than having to dig through settings.

Hmm.. didn't realize you could do that with Vista. That's cool. And yea, I know what you mean about destroying your ear drums. I've had that happen a couple times.. ugh, does it hurt.
