Is there an Android app to block calls and txt?

you could use handcent to disable sms notifications for a particular sms sender, but no phone-side app is going to be able to disable SMS entirely. You'll still be charged for it unless you block it at the carrier level.

not sure about an app for calls. i know the cyanogenmod dialer lets you blacklist certain numbers so that they don't ring.

Root Call Blocker's by far the best, it costs I believe $5 but it's worth every penny. I tried every app of this sort and they all either didn't work at all, or sucked so bad they weren't worth using. Only thing with it is your phone has to be rooted to use it.

You could pull the SIM.

You also could use the old-person favorite of keeping the phone off until you want to make a call (How many people do you know who do this - I am down to only two right now, down from a high of 5 (I know too many old people)).

hmm...yea, it is called google voice 😀

Not to completely go off topic, but has anyone else had issues with Google Voice not actually blocking incoming spam calls?

I have the automatic spam filter set, I manually block the numbers in Google Voice, but still, the calls ring my phone. Google Voice even lists them as spam and blocked.

Are they circumventing the filters somehow? Is it just me?
