My friend is really nervous about buying some condoms, so I'm going to do it for him. I'm 17, and never bought any before. I'm just wondering if I'll get carded or something.
 
I don't think so, and I don't think they'll give a damn. Its not illegal, and if you're not comfortable about it, you can always buy online from places like drugstore.com and have it delivered in a non-descript brown box.

If your friend can't even buy condoms for fear of embarrassment, I don't think he's ready to have sex. Just my .02.

If he is too embarassed to buy his own condoms why is he having sex in the first place. It's a responsible decision made by an adult, not a child who is afraid to purchase something that will save his ass in the end.

If the clerk laughs or something, just say "Who's the one getting laid tonight?" That ought to shut them up pretty quickly.

Unless you're buying the extra small size. Not that I've had any experience with that of course.

heh that reminds me

At aids walk los angeles 2002 (a few weeks ago), there were a couple of booths that gave out free flavored condoms. Yes i whored a lot...but thats not the point. A little boy about the age of 8 went and grabbed some and walked away with a grin on his face. The distributors didn't give a sh!t.
 
I was semi-embarassed one time because I bought an economy sized box with like, hell, I dunno, 90 of 'em.

"Yes . . . I am going to be using all of them!"
 
Be sure that if you pick up some condoms for your friend that you get the ones with the spermicidal lubricant.


Ohh yeah...and this whole conversation reminds me of that good point that I heard once: It's only premarital sex if you intend on getting married. 😀

Of course, when I was 16 I was too embarressed to buy them too, so I did without (stupid, I know).

While I agree that 16 year olds are too young to have sex, I can hardly talk since I did the same thing. Kids should have condoms avilable for just these situations. I don't like it, but better than the other option (the one I picked).

While we're on the subject, whats the difference between Trojans and Trojan Enz?! I mean, wtf? Here was my first condom buying experience:
