Is there an adapter that would allow regular A/V input into a PC monitor?

You know, RCA inputs to work with a PC monitor that only has DVI or VGA inputs? I want to hook up my son's gaming console to a 17" LCD I am not using.

Get a TV Tuner - Winfast Leadtek 2000XP Deluxe is great, have had it for many years and multiple ones without major issues. A TV Tuner will be much less expensive than a standalone converter, plus it allows you to watch TV on it if he wants or just have the console in windowed mode.

It was just the first one that google came up with. I'm sure if you look around you could find one for $50.

This might do what you want

VGA to RCA/s-video adaptor at monoprice

Monoprice is awesome...almost always the cheapest.

That won't do what he wants.

Why not? It's made to go from the tv-out (s-video or RCA) to your monitor (VGA). So why couldn't you hook up a game console instead of the tv-out?

It's made to go from certain videocards to TVs. Not from composite sources to monitors.

From the Website:
(*)It will work with VGA cards that has TV-Out function capability through the VGA connector.

OH I need to comment one the last one, the Neoya, I had the older model for the xbox 1, and it truly does what it says it does. Its not fake and give a up scaled 800x600 picture like some do, it truly takes the HD output that would of gone to a HD tv set and produces it on a PC monitor in 720P or 1080I (if the game supports that) and then I would have to say if the new one says it does up to 1080P then it will do 1080P if the games your playing outputs at that res. Keep in mind if the game your playing outputs in 720P it will not upscale it to 1080P, it just does what your game is to play and sends that true signal to the pc monitor for crystal clear gaming on a pc monitor without the need of a HD tv set.

So OP if the console your going to use is a PS2 or Xbox, you never did say and that would help a little, all you need to get is the HD AV pack for it and your set.
