is there a way to use your gmail acct as an online harddrive?

ie: Is there a way to easily backup your data directory of like 1000 files in your gmail acct?

the whole reason they offer 1gig is because they know very few people will ever use that much

you're allowed 10 MB attachment (including encoding overhead).

i don't think it's going to be practical to use it as a storage though.

<wet blanket>Even if you could, you probably wouldn't want to. Even if you're on broadband, most people have uploads capped to anywhere from 15-30kb/s...it would take far too long to upload anything useful.</wet blanket>

Hmm I might have to use Gmail to backup my most important docs now...free remote backup!

Who cares if it's slow, better safe than sorry if your house blows up, right?
