I got a Athlon 64
79gt and plenty of ram

but recently want to play a very old 2D game(i played this game when i had a i486)

Is there a way(except virusly) to slow down my system to play this game.. Underclock will not help, as what fsb should i set to meet i486...

I don't want to corrupt my system, but i want to play this 2d game, is it possible?

Thanks

I could use something like this too. Dosbox lets you set the speed, but some other emulators like Basilisk don't. I have a number of old Mac games for that which seem to run okay but go way too fast.

yes this program really works...

but i got another problem...
i am actually setting this up for my mom to play her games, however she doesn't know computer at all, so she can't do all those mounting everytime...

is there a way that i can set everything up in the beginning and later on she just needs to click on the icon and go?

Doesn't the DOSbox page list "front ends" to automate startup?

Or if DOSBox accepts command line arguments you could create a desktop shortcut then edit its properties to add the extra commands.

Put some autoexec commands into the dosbox.conf file. If it's just one game, you can set it to open right away when you start Dosbox.
