From a cold system shutdown.. Is there a way you can remotely log in somehow to some type of power supply/switch that can turn on your computer? besides calling someone to actually go into your room and pressing the power button.. is there a way to remotely power on your computer?

some modems will turn on the computer if a call comes in...

there's always Wake on LAN, but I'm not sure how that works exactly...

Both do require an ATX ps, though...

If your pc is always connected to the net....even when turned off.....Wake On Lan (WOL) is the best way to go......all it requires is that your mobo supports WOL and you have a NIC that has WOL and you need the cable that connects your mobo to your NIC. There are many small programs that you can use to send the required packet to your system that your NIC will pick up and turn on your system. There are even websites that have WOL embedded in the page. Enter your IP address and MAC address and it will send the info to your pc to "awaken" it. We use WOL here at my work on 1000+ pc to push software. You cannot be behind a firewall or running a router or WOL will not work. Go to Intel's website for more information. That Powerstone is pretty cool...I have never seen anything like that. I can find many uses for that besides a pc.
