Remove the piezoelectric ignitor from a gas grill. Lay the prime wire near the memory slots and fire away a few times. The pulse (often exceeding 16 kV) creates catastrophic failures in components that are untraceable and are declared spike damage. The computer will stop working permanently.

Doing this to an external component such as a keyboard or mouse may disable that component and freeze the computer, or take out the port it is connected to or a combination of the two.

Cheers!

place a broken or badly flahsed cdrom or dvdrom drive.
Idealy the type that is not recognized by the bios so it will hang on reboot.

overclock until it becomes unstable

invert the floppy cable

Hmm take the CPU out then put the heatsink back on
OR
Get a magnet and go over your mobo with it
OR
Throw your CPU down a flight of stairs then plug it back in
OR
Take the copper out of one of the cables (can be difficult) then put the cable back in so it looks the same as befor but with no copper :)

Drop the voltage of the CPU so that it's way too low. No permanent damage, but enough to screw up a computer but still run at the right speed ;)

run the 12v line of the psu into the 5v line, while its running, but take every safety precaution not to hurt yourself.

It will fry the PSU almost instantly.

Take a razorblade & slice the ribbon cable that goes to the HD. Doesn?t have to be a real big slice, just a very small neat one! That will keep em busy for awhile!

well im quite an expert at such matters. You see heres what you do, get some cherrie bombs and a couple gallons of lighter fluid... well you get it

Also, once i kept on pressing the power button again and again... and then there was that time when i spilled soda all over the motherboard and i got really pissed and i was gonna wash it untill i realized that that wasnt such a good idea.

and then my dog pissed all over my comp...but that didnt do much...nothing like the time i was replacing my ram and it got stuck and i was like uh oh so then i pulled really hard and well it broke in half..

i think any of those things will cause your computer to freeze... but all you really have to do is open the circuit with the motherboard and the power supply you can just cut out a segment of the actual wire and put it back so the to ends dont touch, im pretty sure that would cause it to fail.

Pull out the cpu, lick the bottom, sick it back in before it dries then boot it up.

Cut the power switch so when he press it it wont turn on, but the power sw in still plugged into the mobo!

Or take the Graphics card or a PCI card and intentionally seat it improperly.

And the good old clear tape over the Ethernet or phone line connects will probably have him stumped for awhile.

Or you could set his keyboard to Dvorak so when he hits D its an O or whatever. (u can do it form control panel)

Maybe you can superglue his mouse to the desk or something, also you could put glue over the optical sensor on his mouse if he has an optical mouse.

Also you can make that "you are an idiot" flash thing that will crash a Win98 PC his home page in IE or whatever he uses and have it lauch on startup

Aaannnd...... im out of ideas for now, guess your doing an APR fools joke?

Actually, I don't think that a magnet on the motherboard would do anything; I don't know of any magnetic media on the board. It'd probably be like putting a magnet near a CD.
