Title says it all, basically I'm wondering if there is a way to recstrict access to the CD where it cannot even be browsed without the password.

I need to be able to store privacy act information on it.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Good question, I'm curious too.

I'm guessing it can't be done, but I hope i'm proved wrong.

It would be tricky, basically it would require a shell program that would translate the data being stored into a format unreadable by windows/dos. The program would need a the correct password in order for it to translate said data into a readable format. It would be written into the autorun file so when you put in a cdr/rw, the first thing it does is run the program that prompts for the password before the disc can be read.

Sort of like a variation of adaptec's udf reader, but with password protection.

This is a hastle, but you could put a password protected zip file inside another password protected zip file ... easy to crack, but functional
