is there a way to know someone's ip in aol instant messenger?

you need to form a direct connection to them. stuff like file transfer, talk, and sending pictures. then you can look at all your current connections and see their ip.

i chat with random people world wide... or at least thats what they say 🙂
so i wanted to see where they actually are, anywhere in the vicinity of what they've mentioned.

so where would i get this aim ip sniffer? searched on google but not much came of the search results.

go to start then run

type in cmd

it will bring up a command prompt

then....right as you receive a message from them, type netstat and it will list all current connections, just figure out which one is their ip address 🙂

*hint* do a before and after netstat and find out which one is theirs

nope... that wont work. works for icq if you use direct connections, but the default is not to, so that script kiddies dont mess with other people. all connections default to go through the aim servers

If you arent willing to trust them just a little bit, why bother talking to them at all? If you definitely need to find out where they are from, just get on irc and do your cybering there.
