Is there a way to hover over a window and it becomes active?

This was one of my favorite little features of Ubuntu. As you are going back and forth between windows, whichever one you are hovering over, it becomes active. This way, you don't have to click on it before you can scroll. It's particularly helpful when you have another smaller window that you want to keep in front. You can scroll up and down in the back window with out forcing it to the front.

Any way to do this in W7 or any other version for that matter?

I don't know about W7/Vista but in previous versions of Wwindows you could enable focus follows mouse with a power toy control panel. Although, much like the multiple desktops app, it didn't work nearly as well in Windows as it does in Linux.

Obviously this is a matter of personal taste, but I remember working with GUIs that automatically changed focus with a mouse-over, and I hated it. I'd be typing, not realizing I was typing into the wrong window because the mouse had moved a bit.

And I do the opposite in Windows, I mouse over expecting focus to change and end up typing in the other app.

But I bet we both try to right-click on Apple mice? ;) You'd think for all that money, Apple could throw in a spare mouse button.
