Is there a way to edit an mp3?

I have an mp3 of the song i need..but its got to be instrumental but the song has a few words in it. Is there anyway to edit it?

decompress it into .wav and edit in any wave editor. You can compress it back to mp3 when you're done.

you can also edit it directly in mp3, with MP3DirectCut (google it)

Goldwave. If you mean you'd like to cut out the voice layer, there are 3rd party plugins available that can do that to a certain degree. Technically it's not possible to segregate the layers (it's all the same layer on a flat mp3/wav) - this may help though...
