Is there a way to create artificially slowness in a computer?

make a statement that after ever operation it goes through it and pretty much just run in circles for a while.....

run seti, set priority to realtime. make sure that you don't have seti to restart when the computer boots up

Whatever it is, it has to be unnoticeable so I can't run any particular program to do it. I'm thinking of maybe a setting somewhere. And this is a laptop so I can't underclock the FSB. Plus that would be obvious since the speed of the computer would show up as slower than what it's supposed to be.

Is this a prank?

I read something somewhere about lowering the virtual memory to do it. Not sure if it will work though.

When's the last time you paid any attention to your post speed?
