Is there a way to check the HDD temperature?

I want to make sure my HDD's are running cool. Is there a way to check the HDD temperature? Do HDD's have those thermal sensors like the motherboards do?

I use a program called HDD Temperature. I think it's available for download at this site.. It only works for IDE drives and doesn't work with RAID setups.

I use the same thing. It integrates right into Motherboard Monitor 5.

The free verson of HDD Temperature only shows the temp of 1 HDD. The $12.50 version is needed to show more than one HDD.

There's another HDD temp program called DTemp. It's free and supports multiple HDDs. The temps of each show up in the sys tray. It is stand-alone and does not integrate with MBM.

Both programs give the same temp readings so they're either both accurate or both inaccurate to the same degree!

Nobody mentioned this, so I'll mention is now Only S.M.A.R.T. capable drives can monitor their own temps. Yes, the trial version of HDD Temp only supports one drive, and one that is not in a RAID at that. Not sure if it support SMART SCSI, I've never tried it.
