Hello,
Is there a way to change a hard drive's manufacturers name or model that is detected by the bios?

This is at your own risk, but assuming you ensure the partitions fit, perhaps you can hot swap the drive just before it begins cloning. Perhaps just before the final click of the dialog button.
Other option is to pay... from what I remember many will sell you the full version at a discount.
I'm aware of CloneZilla, I just liked how convenient the tool is. It was great to do it live.
dd is linux based, I am not sure how easy it is to move from a 500 GB mechanical drive to say a 256 GB SSD drive.
Hard disk Serial numbers are easy to spoof, but to my knowledge there is no way to spoof the manufacturer name without the manufacturer software they use to code their hard drives.
Macrium Reflect is free and will do on-the-fly cloning.
